Maths

This week, the children have been learning about how to find a fraction of an amount. They know that to find one part they need to divide the whole number by the denominator and then to find more than one part they need to multiply the answer by the numerator. Tochi was able to confidently use a systematic approach to find different fractions of amounts.

English

During this week, the children have been reading the text ‘I Was There Viking Invasion’ in preparation for writing their own newspaper reports. The children really enjoyed taking it in turns to read the text aloud.  Also, they have learnt about the key features of a newspaper report and focused on how to punctuate speech accurately.  

Other Areas

In RE, the children really enjoyed learning about what the different parts of a Christingle represent. Gabiell produced a beautiful drawing of a Christingle and he clearly labelled each of the different parts.

Well done to Woodpeckers Group 1, who were the winners of our second TT Rockstars class competition. A special mention must go to Ravin, who spent a huge amount of time practising his times tables and earning points for his group.
