EYFS Curriculum
The Early Years Foundation Stage is split into two phases. The first phase is Foundation Stage One also known as Nursery. Your child can attend from the term after their third birthday. The second stage is known as Foundation Stage Two or Reception. This is the first year that your child will spend in full time education.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and aim to provide the children with a broad range of learning experiences in a variety of interesting and engaging ways. The children are given the opportunity to investigate, explore and learn through practical, structured and free play activities. These activities respond to each child’s individual needs and interests. Children are encouraged to be independent and we have many areas and activities where they can self-select materials and equipment.
Each day the children will learn as a whole class, in small groups and independently through play. We have time each day dedicated to the specific teaching of reading, writing and maths. At Reigate Park we value outside learning and provide the children with stimulating opportunities to play and learn together outside.
