BSL Ambassadors at Reigate Park
We are very proud to be one of the first schools in the country to teach British Sign Language (BSL). We also have a number of BSL Ambassadors within KS2 Our Ambassadors applied in writing or BSL video and then had an interview with the school BSL team.
The Ambassador role involves one or more of:
Supporting other children within their classroom on a regular basis to sign using BSL.
Acting as a role model for the use of BSL throughout the school.
Supporting peers and class teachers to assess what children already know in BSL and what they need to learn next.
Be willing to speak/sign in a whole class environment and possibly in assembly/parent engagement sessions and other events throughout the school.
Running BSL activities in school/community.
Work with a BSL Tutor and be willing to attend regular training sessions.
