Harvest – Our new Junior Leadership Team made a fantastic start to their new role in school. Their first task this academic year was the Harvest Festival. The JLT encouraged their friends to bring in a small donation to help other families that are not as fortunate. They set a splendid example by bringing in some food items themselves. Once all the food had been collected, JLT helped Vicky, who supports for the local communities, to help pack them into crates. Vicky later emailed the school expressing her thanks by saying - “We would like to extend a massive thank you to all who helped with the harvest donations. This year you went above and beyond, and I am so grateful for your generosity when we know life is tough for so many people. You really have made a difference! The food you provided has enabled us to make about 20 food parcels for people in desperate need. We cannot thank you enough. Blessings, Vicky at Derby A2C”
Antibullying Week – For anti-bullying week, JLT worked with the Reigate’s Mental Health Ambassadors and presented a PowerPoint to the whole school. During the assembly, they showed some scenarios that could be faced on the school playground. Once demonstrated in a video format, they then showed how they could show kindness to make the scenario have a happier and more respectful outcome. They also supported the school in having an Odd Sock Day.
Children in Need – JLT once again have done an amazing job of helping the community by arranging a day for Reigate to raise as much money as they can for Children in Need. This year we had a pyjama day and had a competition of design your own Pudsey T-shirt. This year Reigate Park Primary Academy raised an amazing £250.28! Thank you for all your contributions, everyone! All your support will help many children throughout the UK.
Christmas Fair – For the Christmas fair JLT created their own game stall from scratch to help raise money for the Buddy Stops were aiming to buy this year. They used an afternoon to create and make their games and stayed behind after to school to help run them for the fair. In total JLT raised £38.90 for the JLT fund for the year to help buy things for the school. Well done everyone! Again, thank you for all your contributions and support for Reigate.
Reverse Advent – JLT , again with their volunteer spirit, helped Vicky out at the local church again with the Reverse Advent. They walked to the church and supported Vicky in packing food parcels for families who are in need for Christmas. They arranged for Vicky to collect Reigate’s food donations packed up food parcels to help local families in Mackworth. They helped to pack 40 food parcels and 50 stocking fillers for children
Again, thank you so much for all your generous donations, Reigate! Your support is incredible. Roll on the new year for the next adventures.
