Sharks Autumn 1 Week 4
Date: 2nd Oct 2024 @ 4:42pm
This week we have been busy publishing our own versions of "The Magic Paintbrush." We have worked hard to ensure our writing is our very best and will hopefully present these stories to our Reception children! Our next English unit is information texts. We will be learning to write an information text about a significant person.
In maths, we have continued adding 2 digit numbers using a tens and ones grid. We have learnt how to exchange 10 or more numbers when necessary when we are adding. We have also learnt to subtract using a hundred square. We used the hundred square to count back and then checked our answers to ensure they were correct.
In topic, we have continued learning about significant people. We compared the life of Christopher Columbus and Neil armstrong and how their journeys were different. We have also learnt about famous activists such as William Wilberforce, Emmeline Pankhurst and Martin Luther King. We discussed what they did in their lifetime, why they did it and what hardships they suffered.
