Autumn Term

Harvest Festival

JLT kicked off this academic year with a great start; following in last year’s JLT footsteps, they arranged a Harvest Festival collection. We would like to thank each and everyone of you who donated to the collection; this was later passed on to Vicky at Mackworth URC who were extremely grateful.

Vicky said “A massive thanks to all who gave us Harvest donations. Yet again you have been phenomenal”.

She went on to say “Please don't forget we are here for everyone, so don't go hungry, speak to someone at school and we can support you too.”

Children In Need -

For JLT’s second event, they held a Pyjama Day for Children In Need. As well as having a comfy, chilled day at school, JLT created the competition “Who can get the spots on Pudsey?”. This consisted of each year group going head-to-head with their partner class and all winners received a certificate!

Reigate Park fundraised a total of £302.22 for Children In Need!

Thank you to all who donated, your support is amazing.

Reverse Advent –

JLT got in contact with Vicky again this month and they organised this year’s Reverse Advent Calendar. The calendar was open from the beginning of December and the response was heartwarming. Yet again our school community provided donation for the local church and Vicky was overwhelmed with the generosity of our second collection.

Following the collection of our donations, JLT walked up to The Mackworth URC and helped Vicky pack food parcels for the local community. These parcels included the donations from Reigate and they were used to help families over the Christmas period.

Memory Café –

As part of JLT’s journey they are creating links in the community whilst building on their Harmony Trust Pledge. One of these links is with Vicky and the URC however, it has expanded to a second church on Ashbourne Road. Vicky invited JLT there to the weekly Memory Café where our children provided members of the church with a new friendly face and conversation. Our JLT also helped serve the church members their lunch and sat and ate theirs with them too.

The members of the Church group were overwhelmed with the kindness of our pupils and Vicky was proud of their respect towards others who are less fortunate.
