Autumn 2 Week 5

Maths
In Maths lessons this week, looking at equivalent fractions and finding fractions of amounts. On Thursday we developed this to look at solving word problems by calculating fractions of amounts.

English
In English this week, we have been writing our Myths up in our own books. After this, we read the book “Viking Invasion” about a boy called Aldwyn and the Vikings starting to attack his city, Eoforwic. began learning about the features of a newspaper so that we can create a newspaper article to warn the nearby Anglo-Saxon villages about the Vikings.

Other Subjects
In Topic we have been identifying the equator and looking at the tropic of Cancer and the tropic of Capricorn. We also looked at how to find and use 4 and 6 figure grid references.

Other news
In other news, we have had a visitor to our classroom, called Clive the Christmas Chameleon. So far, he handed some books out in the wrong places, drew on the working wall and read in the reading corner!

This week the whole of Bees class received star of the week for super effort in the class assembly!
