What a fantastic start to the term for the Alligators! It has been lovely to see them all again after the Christmas holidays.

Maths

In Maths this week, the year 6 children have been learning how to use negative numbers in context. The children applied their understanding of negative numbers to answer arithmetic style questions. 

English

In English this week, the children have been learning about adventure narratives. At the beginning of the week, the children began their learning by identifying the 5 core elements of a narrative (characters, plot, setting, problem and resolution). The children then investigated the core elements of adventure narrative and films. At the end of the week, the children began to write setting descriptions for the narratives which will retell the story of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
