Bears Autumn 1, Week 8

English 

We read the story 'Leaf Thief' and discussed what season the book was set in. The squirrel in the story believed that his woodland friends were stealing the leaves from his tree. We discussed what was happening to the leaves and that because it was Autumn, the leaves were being blown away by the wind. 

Maths

This week, we have been learning to subitise. We looked at a dice and practised recognising the value without counting the spots. Then, we practised subitising amounts of objects and finding the number on a number line. Dalton worked hard to find the numbers. 

Topic

We went on an Autumn walk to spot the signs of Autumn. We saw lots of red and yellow leaves in the trees and some on the ground too.
