Bears Autumn 2, Week 1

English 

To celebrate Bonfire Night, we read a story called ‘Sparks in the Sky’. We discussed the keys words from the text that described the bonfire and fireworks. Then, we went to our Forest School to have our own bonfire! We enjoyed a biscuit round the fire, whilst we listened to the crackling sounds it made.  Everyone followed all the instructions to keep themselves safe.

Maths

In Maths, we have been finding one more of different amounts. We pretended to go on a bus to the fireworks and practised counting how many children were on the bus. Then, another child would get on the bus, and we would count again to find out what one more was.

Topic

We have started our new topic ‘Marvelous Machines’ and we watched a video to introduce us to machines. Then, we went on a walk around school to look for different machines. We saw printers, computers, hand dryers and lots more, discussing what each machine does. Elsie was great at spotting the machines!
