Bears Autumn 2, Week 2

Take a look at the Brilliant Bears learning this week...

English 

This week, we read the story 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson. Then, we had a go at applying our phonics learning to label a picture from the story. We listened carefully to the words 'cat', 'dog', 'hat' and 'pot' and used a sound mat to help us write the words. Jaxxon did a great job at identifying all the sounds in the words. 

Maths

In Maths, we have been learning about repeating patterns. We practised creating patterns using pictures and saying the patterns to help us continue them. We also looked at patterns with mistakes in and practised spotting and correcting the mistakes. 

Topic

On Monday, we took part in a two-minute silence for Remembrance Day. We discussed what Remembrance Day is about and why we were having a two-minute silence.

On Tuesday, we wore odd socks for Anti-Bullying Week. We talked about the theme for this year 'Choose Respect' and discussed different ways we can show respect to others.
