Bears Autumn 2, Week 3
Date: 21st Nov 2024 @ 8:04am
Take a look at the Brilliant Bears learning this week...
On Tuesday, we had lots of fun going on a snow walk! We enjoyed walking through the snow and making snowmen with our friends.
English
This week, we read the story ‘We Catch the Bus’, which looked at different types of vehicles including buses, boats and diggers. We discussed the different vehicles, thinking about what they do and which ones we liked best. Then, we had a go at writing a caption for a digger.
Maths
In Maths, we have been learning about 2D shapes. We looked at circles, squares, triangles and rectangles, talking about how many sides and corners each shape has. We also played ‘pass the shape’ and practiced saying the names of the shapes when the music stopped. Then, we had a go at making shapes using other shapes, for example using two triangles to make a square. Laura did a great job at remembering what 2D shapes can be used to form other shapes.
Topic
In our ‘Marvelous Machines’ topic, we looked at transport through the ages. We talked about how the vehicles have changed over time. Finn made some excellent observations about how cars and trains have changed.
Star of the week – Tyron! You are working really hard in Maths, and you always listen carefully.
