Bears Autumn 2, Week 5

Take a look at the Brilliant Bears learning this week...

English 

Our book of the week was ‘The Little Red Hen’. We listened to the story and talked about what the characters were doing. On Tuesday, we had a go at writing a sentence from the story. George did a great job remembering to use a full stop at the end of the sentence.

In the craft area, we had a go at creating character cones to represent the characters from ‘The Little Red Hen’. Laura and Theo really enjoyed making these!

Maths

We have been learning about ‘parts’ and ‘whole’. We looked at different foods and sorted them into hoops, deciding if they were ‘parts’ or ‘whole’. Then, we applied this learning to numbers. We practiced splitting the number 5 into two parts, using counters.

Topic

As part of our ‘Puppets and Pop Ups’ topic, we looked at images of different puppets. We discussed what the puppets showed and the stories they could tell.
