Bears Spring 1, Week 4
Date: 30th Jan 2025 @ 7:39am
Take a look at the Brilliant Bears learning this week...
English
We read the story Peepo this week. We noticed that the story is set in the past and talked about the similarities and differences between now and then. For our writing task we wrote about what the baby from ‘Peepo’ could see. We had a go at using the new digraphs we have learned, such as ‘ee’, ‘ch’ and ‘sh’.
Maths
This week in Maths, we have been learning about 3D shapes. We looked at the different 2D shapes that make 3D shapes. E.g a cube is made up of 6 squares. We then did some shape magic and turned 2D shapes into 3D shapes! We also looked at what 3D shapes we can see in everyday objects. We found different objects from the classroom that were 3D shapes, such as dice for cubes and glue sticks for cylinders. Joshua did a great job matching 3D shapes to everyday objects!
Topic
This week is Chinese New Year. We have learnt lots about how this is celebrated and learnt how to say ‘Gong hey fat choy’ through song. Then, for our craft activity, we had a go at making our own Chinese dragons!
Star of the week – Adrianna! You have made an excellent start to your time at Reigate, learning the school rules quickly and making lots of new friends.
