Bears Spring 2, Week 4

Take a look at the Brilliant Bears' learning this week...

 

In Maths, we are learning about repeating patterns. We reminded ourselves of ABAB patterns, then started looking at trickier repeating patterns, using our bodies. For example: stand, sit, sit, stand, sit, sit. We then moved onto creating our own farm animal patterns. Well done to Ghadeer for creating some super patterns! :) 

 

In English this week, we read ‘Handa’s Surprise’. We talked about how this book is set in a village in Kenya and had a look at where this is on Google Earth. We discussed that this is a hot place, and some exotic fruits grow here. For our writing task, we generated our own sentence ideas to write about the different fruits from the story. Elijah worked so hard to think of great describing words - well done! :) 

 

In Topic, we thought about the different colours fruit and vegetables are. We discussed that not all carrots are orange. Then, we had a look at some fruit and vegetables in unusual colours.
