This week the children have been reading the book 'Clean up'.  It is all about ‘Rocket’, an astronomy-obsessed girl, who embarks on a mission to save a Caribbean beach from plastic pollution. When Rocket visits her grandparents, she’s shocked by the plastic litter endangering the local sea life. Inspired, she rallies everyone to pick up the all the rubbish. Rocket’s infectious energy teaches kids about environmental responsibility and the power of collective action. In the Bear’s class this week, we discussed the story and wrote about ways we can help keep our world clean. Just like Rocket, we can all be bringers of change! Let’s follow Rocket’s lead and make a difference by keeping our beaches clean and our oceans thriving Reception! 🌊🌎🌟

In Maths this week, the children have dived into the world of subtraction. First, they counted beanbags while tossing them into hoops. Later, we tried our hand at subtraction sentences. Callie and Millie were fantastic at naming key vocabulary e.g. equals and minus.  Well done!  Parents, brace yourselves for these pint-sized problem solvers this week—they’re subtracting their way to infinity and beyond! 🚀🧮

Thank you to all who attended our Teddy Bear Picnic event last Friday.  It was a wonderful to see such a variety of bears and bedtime companions.  A final big thank you to all who attended the parental engagement sessions throughout the year.  We hope you had lots of fun!
