Busy Bees Summer 2 Week 4
Date: 27th Jun 2024 @ 5:00pm
Maths
In Maths lessons this week, Bees Class have been looking at money and calculating different amounts of money, including working out change. Later in the week, we also looked at converting between pounds and pence in order to help us to work out word problems more easily.
English
In English this week, Bees Class have finished publishing our Biographies. We were very excited to start our new writing unit which is all about writing a persuasive letter to Derby Museum to persuade them to give us a discount or a free ticket to their new exhibition all about Ancient Egypt. At the end of the week, the children learned the features of a persuasive letter.
Other Subjects
In Topic this week, we started our brand-new topic ‘Statues, Statuettes and Figurines’. First, we looked at famous statues around the world and practiced sketching parts of these in our Art Journals. Then, we talked about what the statues were made from, and how it was possible that some have become damaged over time. At the end of the week, we looked in more detailed about Statues from Ancient Civilisations, including Ancient Egypt, and sketched these using our sketching pencils.
Our Star Writer of the week this week is Casey-Leigh!
Our Star of the week is Ruth for your super effort writing an informative biography!
Our attendance for the week is 95%
Thank you Busy Bees, for another fantastic week.
