Butterflies Autumn 2 Week 2
Date: 14th Nov 2024 @ 7:59am
Take a look at the Brilliant Butterflies' learning this week...
Maths
In Maths this week, we have been learning to copy and create repeating patterns. We used our bodies to create a 'stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down'....... and a 'boy, girl, boy, girl' pattern. We then created our own as a class before correcting the mistakes in patterns that Mrs Laz had created! We were able to identify the mistakes and correct them. WWe spotted patterns in our environment, both inside and outside. Ada-Grace noticed the fence had a repeating colour pattern - Well done! :)
In English this week, we have been reading the story 'Room on a Broom' We learnt the meaning of five key words and tried hard to spot them in the story. We used our phonic knowledge to label a picture from the story. Our teachers were so proud of how hard we worked on this. Well done to Clara for transferring her phonic skills to correctly label 'cat, dog, hat and pot' :) Later in the week, we used the puppets from the story to retell the story in small groups. We loved using scary witch voices and different animal voices!
On Monday, we learnt all about Rememberance Day and why this is important. We joined the school in doing a 2 minute silence and showed great respect during this.
We have also celebrated Anti-Bullying week by wearing odd socks and learning the importance of choosing respect.
