Butterflies Summer 2 Week 4

Date: 27th Jun 2024 @ 7:52am

Wow, what a busy (and very hot!) week we have had in Reception!

In Literacy, the Butterflies continued the story 'Clean Up' They were really excited to predict what would happen after the Clean Up Crew worked their magic on the beach. Melissa was able to predict they would put all of the rubbish in the bin. The beach was spotless! and, more importantly, the sea creatures were safe from being tangled in anymore rubbish. This book generated a lot of discussion about how to keep our world clean and safe for everyone. Chizurum talked enthusiastically about recycling and how we can all help with this.

In Maths, we have been revisisting 'Subtraction' The children were able to read the different number sentences and confidently used a variety of ways to answer these. The children enjoyed drawing the number of lines on their whiteboard and then using their finger to 'take away' the required amount. Mariah was fab at this and proudly explained to the children what to do.

Thank you to the grown-ups who joined us for our 'Teddy Bears Tea Party' The children (and teddy bears) had a wonderful time and enjoyed spending the day with their furry friends :)
