Butterflies Summer 2 Week 6
Date: 11th Jul 2024 @ 8:33am
Some very busy, but tired Butterflies this week!
In Literacy, we have loved exploring the story 'The Crocodile Who Didn't Like Water' This story follows a baby crocodile who desperately wants to play with her brothers and sisters but really doesn't like the water! One day, as her nore begins to tickle, she lets out a huge sneeze and surprisingly blows out fire! The children found it hilarious that it was in fact a dragon not a crocodile! Noah listened enthusiastically to the story and answered lots of questions about it - Well done Noah! :)
In Maths, the Butterflies have been learning to compare numbers and quantities of objects using the language 'more' 'fewer' 'same amount' The class were brilliant at helping Bertie Bear correct his mistake. He had mixed up the different amount of cubes and the children's job was to sort them into the correct numbered pots. We then talked about which pot had the most amount of cubes? Which pot had the fewest amount of cubes? etc. Etta showed a great understanding of this - Great work Etta! :)
Reception did themselves proud on our school trip last week. They had a fantastic time and were a shining example to others! Well done Reception! The children met lots of animals, petted a Guniea Pig and played in the outdoor play areas.
