Cheetah Class Spring 2 Week 5

Date: 28th Mar 2025 @ 3:19pm

Take a look at what Cheerful Cheetahs class have been learning this week ...

In English this week, the children have been planning and beginning to publish their work, focusing on using creative language to describe what they can see, hear, and feel during different seasons. Elijah came up with a fantastic description of ‘intricate daffodils’. Cheetahs have used their imagination to describe Spring. Mia wrote about the ’beautiful snowdrops growing in the park’.

In maths, we’ve started exploring measures. We’ve been learning all about capacity, which is helping us understand how much a container can hold. The class has also been working on identifying and naming 3D shapes, as well as learning about their properties. Year One even squeezed in a lesson about learning to make turns—whether it's half a turn, a full turn, a quarter turn, or even a three-quarter turn. It’s been so much fun watching them apply these concepts in various activities!

In topic, we have been learning about collagraphy and recreated our own collagraphs using different materials and then printed them onto paper. We had some fantastic designs. We also then recreated a weather motif using a new found collagraphy skills.
