Clever Koalas - Autumn 1 - Week 6
Date: 18th Oct 2024 @ 8:13am
A big congratulations to Chester for being awarded the Star of the Week this week. Chester has been working ever so hard in maths lessons to fully complete his work and also challenge hiimself! Chester pushes himself to work on reasoning problems and does not give up.
Our Star writer this week is Drake, a big well done for an excellent piece of published writing in English - see his work below!
The Star Writer this week was chosen from our English work, the children have been working incredibly hard and have been very focussed on producing their best piece of writing EVER! They have been writing up their BBC 500 words competition story, which has been set in China. Well done to everyone for all their determination in improving their writing this week.
In P.E on Thursday this week we continued with our Dance topic, focusing on Line Dancing. The Koalas are fully embracing this new style of dance and enjoying putting together their new steps. Todays moves included a turning grapevine, steps from the Charleston and Toe, Heel, Step, Step, Step – please ask them to demonstrate these to you!
Thank you to everyone for taking part in our Readathon competition and also any sponsorship money that you were able to raise! The winner in our class for reading the most at home was… DRAKE! Congratulations for all your hard work! Also, Derby beat Nottingham in the challenge by 323,515 minutes!! COME ON DERBY!
Another thank you to everyone who attended parents evening this week, it was lovely to see everyone and meet some parents for the first time. This half term has flown by and both Mrs McIlroy and myself have really enjoyed getting to know your children.
One more week to go until half term, enjoy your weekend!
