Clever Koalas - Autumn 2 - Week 5

A big congratulations to Layla for achieving Star of the Week this week! Layla was chosen this week for always putting 100% into her independent work and  for just being an absolute star all of the time! Well done Layla!

Our Star writer this week is Lakeshia, well done for working hard on your handwriting and producing an excellent report all about Space.

This week in the Koalas has been a little bit different – all the children have completed their end of term assessments.  They have all worked so hard and really tried their best on some trickly papers! It is quite a large leap up from Year 4!

On Wednesday this week the Christmas Market took place in the school hall, thank you so much for everyone who was able to attend and support this event as it raises funds for the school! I hope if anyone purchased a calendar made by the Koalas it takes pride of place at home!

We have started the countdown to Christmas in class with a class advent calendar – each day someone gets picked to open it for the day! We have also decorated the classroom with several small Christmas trees and a tall one at the back covered in tinsel!

On Thursday afternoon Year 5 hosted a showcase to display all the work they have completed so far this academic year. Thank you so much to everyone who came, it was a fantastic turn out and the children absolutely loved sharing their work.  It was lovely to see everyone talking about their work, being able to share their artwork with you and the great photographs we take over the year. The koalas particularly enjoyed revisiting their poetry performances through the photographs – a topic they all loved!
