Clever Koalas - Spring 1 - Week 6

We begin by saying a HUGE congratulations to Taylor for achieving Star of the Week this week.  Taylor has been working extremely hard on his newspaper report all about a ploughing match from the book Farm Boy.  Taylor has worked well to include all of the features required in a newspaper report and has used some excellent vocabulary – well done Taylor!   

Our Star Writer this week is Chester! Chester has been working really hard to ensure his published writing is all joined and really takes his time. Well done on your diary entry Chester!   

In Whole Class Reading this week the Koalas have been completing a reading paper and then marking it themselves using the official mark scheme. The children have enjoyed doing this and found it very helpful to read through the mark scheme together and think carefully about what the question was asking them.

We have completed our newspaper reports this week and published them, whilst concentrating hard to improve our handwriting. They are looking fantastic, well done everyone! Steven said “I liked writing about the race and how Albert and his son won!”

On Wednesday this week we finished our class book “The Brilliant World of Tom Gates” the Koalas have enjoyed reading this and laughing along with myself and Mrs McIlroy. Our new class book is going to be “The Day I Got Trapped In My Brain” which we are all excited to begin!

Tonight is the Valentines disco which some children are really looking forward to, I will see you there 😊
