Dazzling Dolphins - Summer 2 - Week 3

Date: 21st Jun 2024 @ 7:30am

The sun has finally started to shine this week, long may it continue and the rest of the summer term is lovely and warm, especially for our school trip and sports day! We started celebrating the summer in school this week with our Summer Fayre on Wednesday after school.  Thank you so much to everyone who was able to come along and support this! I saw many children working hard to win a lollypop from me by accurately pinning the tail on the donkey!

Congratulations to Freddie for achieving Star of Week this week, he has achieved it this week so being an absolute superstar! Freddie works hard in everything he does and is always willing to ‘give it a go’. Well done!!!

Huge congratulations to Mia for being awarded Star Writer!

On Thursday afternoon this week we enjoyed bug hunting at Forest Schools! The children were excellent when finding a range of creepy crawlies.  They used some magnifying bug viewers to have a closer look at a range of bugs including centipedes, woodlice, slugs, worms and beetles. Forest school is back to normal next week and on Wednesday afternoon, please remember a change of shoes

In Topic we have continued with our learning in Science, moving onto Light and Shadows.  The children have enjoyed investigating reflectors with some torches and a wide range of materials. The Dolphins have been discussing the difference between a reflector and a light source and identifying lots of different examples, please ask them what the moon is!! We have also been outside exploring our own shadows and explaining how they are made.

In English the Dolphins have started drafting their own myths, they have written some excellent openings so far and we cannot wait to read the finished stories next week.
