Perfect Penguins- Autumn 1 Week 5

Maths
In Maths lessons this week we have been using our multiplication and division skills to practise multiplying and dividing whole numbers by 10, 100 and 1000. Later on in the week, we recapped our learning of long multiplication from last year and introduced short multiplication, which Penguins enjoyed learning!

English
In English this week, we started learning skills we need for writing a narrative. We first mapped out the Willow Pattern Story, and then we looked at subordinate clauses and similes. Next week, we are looking forward to planning our own narratives.

Other Subjects
This week in Topic, we have learned all about war in the Shang Dynasty and why the warriors were so successful. At the end of the week we looked at why the Shang Dynasty ended. In PE we continued our learning of Bollywood Dancing and started changing direction and moving in a group with our dance moves.

Penguins Achievements!

Star of the Week: Poppy- for always being kind and helpful in the classroom. She is a real role model to the other Penguins.

Star Writer: Zara- for her amazing and creative sentences with similes.
