Perfect Penguins- Spring 1 Week 1

This week in English we have started looking at the book ‘Farm Boy’ by Michael Morpurgo, which is the sequel to the famous book ‘War Horse’.  We learned we would be writing a Diary Entry and started looking at all the features we would need to do this.

Maths
In Maths this week, we have been looking at Place Value. At the beginning of the week, we looked at rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. Next, we challenged ourselves by rounding to the nearest 10,000 and 100,000. We found this a little tricky but tried really hard. At the end of the week, we looked at negative numbers, remembering that the further a number gets away from 0, the smaller the number is.

Other Subjects
This week in Topic, Penguins have started the new topic ‘Sow, Grow, Farm’. This week, we have started learning all about allotments and why they can be helpful. After this, we started looking at food chains and life cycles of different animals.
