Perfect Penguins- Spring 1 Week 4
Date: 31st Jan 2025 @ 9:13am
English
This week in English we have continued looking at the book ‘Farm Boy’. At the start of the week, we learned our next writing project is to write a newspaper report to inform the villagers in the story about what happened in the ploughing match between the father and Harry Medlicott. Penguins learned all the features we need to include in a newspaper report and started looking at speech at the end of the week.
Maths
In Maths this week, we have been looking at Fractions. At the start of the week, we learned how to change from a mixed number to an improper fraction and from an improper fraction into a mixed number. At the end of the week, we looked at how to add and subtract fractions, some with the same denominator, some with different denominators.
Other Subjects
This week in Topic, Penguins class have continued our learning all about farming. On Monday, we studied famous still life paintings and then had a go at sketching fruit bowls. Later on in the week, we studied climates and looked at what things would be farmed in different parts of the world.
