Sharks Autumn 2 Week 4
Date: 28th Nov 2024 @ 12:56pm
In maths, we have been learning how to find fractions of shapes and amounts. We have learnt how to find a half, quarter and a third. We have learnt to use the words 'numerator' and 'denominator' when describing fractions. Emelia was able to explain that the denominator tells us the number of equal groups we need to split the shape/amount into.
In English, we have begun learning how to write a letter. Our work has been inspired by the story Greta and the Giants and we have discovered the terrible damage deforestation is causing to animals homes. Over the coming weeks we are going to write a letter to the Giants to inform them about deforestation.
In Topic, we started our mini project called ‘Remarkable Recipes’. On Wednesday, we carefully followed instructions to make our own banana splits. We cut the bananas, squirted cream and sprinkled sprinkles! They were very tasty!
