Sharks Spring 1 Week 4

In Maths, we have been learning all about money. We have studied the different coins and notes that can be used to buy different items. We have practiced making different amounts and adding amounts together. George really impressed us with his application of his 5 times tables to use 5p coins instead of 10p and 20p coins!

In English, we have been very busy publishing our stories. We have worked very hard to use our neatest handwriting to make this our best piece ever! We also designed our own page borders for this story.

In Topic, we have learnt about Whitby in the past and present. We had an afternoon exploring the different jobs people living in Whitby would have done in the past. We went fishing and collected herrings to deliver to the Herring girls and boys who were responsible for gutting the fish. We also designed our own earings using Whitby jet. Finally, we used wooden blocks to build a ship just like the old shipworkers!
