Sharks Spring 1 Week 5

In Maths, we have been learning how to read scales to find different measures. We explored filling different containers with water and as a group we used the scales to find out how much liquid the container was holding. Later in the week, we measured weight using weighing scales and length using rulers.

In English, we have started working towards writing a letter to the Mayor of Whitby to inform her about plastic pollution. Our work has been inspired by the story Somebody Swallowed Stanley which made us aware of the terrible damage plastic pollution is causing in our oceans.

In topic, we have enjoyed creating our own coastal towns. We applied the knowledge and skills we have aquired over the last few weeks to draw maps and keys and to describe the human and physical features that our towns contain.
