Sharks Summer 2 Week 1

Date: 7th Jun 2024 @ 5:05pm

Welcome back to our final term of year 2!

In English, we have had lots of fun describing different fantasy castles. We first read a description of Trumpington Castle and used the words to help us create an illustration. We then had a go at using different adjectives, noun phrases and adverbial openers to describe a candy castle and a haunted castle. Delaney and Alan contributed great ideas saying "the haunted castle can be found peering over the ancient cemetery".

In maths, we have worked hard to use our knowledge of number bonds to solve calcultations. Ike was great at finding how many ones are needed to reach the next multiple of 10 and then using his number bonds to find the multiple up to 100.  Great job!

We have been scientists this week and have been learning about animal survival. We have learnt that animals need water, food, oxygen and shelter to survive. We've also explored microhabitats and the creatures that can be found in different places. We are looking forward to science day next Wednesday!
