Sharks Summer 2 Week 2
Date: 14th Jun 2024 @ 8:38pm
This week in Maths, we have been solving lots of different problems using both addition and subtraction. We have applied our knowledge of tens and ones to helps us work out the answers. We have also been learning how to use the inverse operation to check if our calculations are correct. Riley was quick to spot the patterns in his answers- well done Riley!
In English, we have enjoyed designing a brand new castle for our setting descriptions. We have all sorts of wild and wonderful creations! We have worked very hard to plan different adjectives and verbs that could be used in our descriptions. Beware of Alan's castle that has 'electrifying wires defending the castle walls'!
We celebrated Science Day on Wednesday. We had fun making salt dough and creating our very own moths. We talked about camouflage and how different animals use this to protect themselves from predators. In the afternoon, we took our moths outside and explored where they camouflaged best in our school grounds. The teachers had to try and find our moths!
Star of the week: Leonidas- a much improved attitude towards learning.
Star writer: Khadija- for making some excellent vocabulary choices.
