Spring 1 Week 5

Maths 
In Maths lessons this week, Bees class have been working on solving word problems using all 4 operations. Later on this week, we have looked at finding equivalent fractions and finding fractions of amounts by diving an amount by the denominator, then multiplying by the numerator.  

English 
In English this week, we finished have continued exploring adventure stories. We drew story maps for our very own adventure stories, and then worked on planning what would happen. At the end of the week, Bees class began writing up their stories.  

Other Subjects 
In Topic this week we have started learning about the water cycle. We learned the 3 processes that happen in the water cycle and set up an experiment to prove what happens in each part. First we put a glass into a bowl, poured water around it and them covered the bowl with cling film. We are going to monitor the bowl to see what happens next.  

This week we have taken part in Internet Safety Day. We had a special assembly where we sang a song about keeping safe on the internet and even drew a comic strip for an advert about staying safe online. This week is also Children’s Mental Health week. For this, we had a special PSHE lesson where we learned what ‘My Voice Matters’ means.
