Maths

This week, the children have been working on solving word problems using all four operations. Also, they have looked at finding equivalent fractions and finding fractions of amounts by diving an amount by the denominator, then multiplying by the numerator.  

English

During this week, the children have continued exploring adventure stories. They drew story maps for their very own adventure stories, and then worked on planning what would happen. At the end of the week, they began writing up their stories.  

Other Areas

This week, in Topic the children have started learning about the water cycle. They have learnt the three processes that happen in the water cycle and set up an experiment to prove what happens in each part. First, they put a glass into a bowl, poured water around it and then covered the bowl with cling film. Next, the children are going to monitor the bowl to see what happens.  

Also, this week the children have taken part in Internet Safety Day. They had a special assembly where they sang a song about keeping safe on the internet and even drew a comic strip for an advert about staying safe online. Furthermore, this week is also Children’s Mental Health week. For this, they had a special PSHE lesson where they learnt what ‘My Voice Matters’ means.

Well done to Kourtney for achieving Star of the Week. She always has an excellent attitude towards her learning and tries her very best.
