Spring 1 Week 6
Date: 19th Feb 2024 @ 2:40pm
Take a look at what the Wonderful Woodpeckers have been learning about this week…
Maths
This week, the children began by learning about how to solve word problems involving fractions of amounts. Then, they learnt about decimal numbers including how to write them and the relationship that they share with fractions.
English
During this week, the children finished writing their adventure stories. They planned each part as they wrote it and at the end of the week they published these into little books.
Other Areas
This week, in Topic the children finished their experiment on the water cycle. The children were very surprised to find that when they lifted the cling film off the bowl and peered into the glass, it had water inside it! They concluded that the water had evaporated into water vapour, condensed on the cling film and then precipitated into the glass, just like in the water cycle. Also, the children really enjoyed their final swimming lesson.
