Spring 2 Week 1

The Bears have very much enjoyed their first week back after half term and have loved finding out about our new topic, 'Dangerous Dinosaurs'.  

The week started by watching an episode of 'Andy's Dinosaur Adventures' in particular focussing on the T-Rex.  From this the children were given a letter sent by lots of different dinosaurs.  The dinosaurs asked the Bears to design a relaxing island for them to: play in the water, visit volcanoes, walk through the forest and watch the sun set behind the mountains.  All of the children worked in groups to bring these fantastic island maps together.  Lara was able to talk about the different areas she added on her map and explain the reason behind each of them.  Well done Lara!

In Maths we have looked at cardinal value (matching the number to the amount).  The children have had a go at counting practical objects and using number fans to show the amount.  They then used a ten frame to see number in different ways.  They then matched amounts to flashcards.

What a fantastic first week.  Well done Bears!
