Maths

In Maths this week, the year 6 children have been learning about ratio and proportion. At the beginning of the week, we began by looking at how to identify ratio by comparing two values against each other. The children then used this knowledge to apply their learning into trickier reasoning and problem-solving questions. 

English

In English this week, the children have begun a new writing unit. In Year 6, we are currently learning how to write a persuasive leaflet. This week, the children have been exposed to different persuasive leaflet examples and have identified the features needed to write a good leaflet. 

We have linked our persuasive writing to our topic 'Frozen Kingdoms', the children will be writing leaflets to persuade holidaymakers to visit Antarctica.
