Spring 2 - Week 1

In Maths this week, the children have been learning about tenths and hundredths and also, how to divide one and two digit numbers by 10 and 100. Furthermore, at the end of the week the children began learning about how to put decimal numbers into ascending and descending order.    

During English this week, the children started looking at explanation texts. They found out that they would be writing an explanation text about States of Matter for Wallace and Gromit. The children looked at an example of a good explanation text and identified the features in it. Then they made a poster of all of the features that would need to be included in their writing.     

In Topic this week, the children began their first mini project called ‘States of Matter’. They investigated how we could make ice melt faster and they concluded that pouring boiling water over it was the quickest. 

In PE this week we have been doing cricket. This week we practised our over and under arm throwing. In Spanish we have begun our topic on the classroom.
