Maths

In Maths, we’ve been learning all about subtraction and addition strategies. We’ve been using different methods to add and subtract numbers, which has been great fun! Olivia has done some fantastic addition work this week, really impressing everyone with her skills! We’ve also been working on ways to make these operations easier, like using number lines or counting on and back. Well done, Olivia, and every other T-Rex!

English

In English, we’ve been getting creative with our writing! We’ve been improving our simple sentences by adding adjectives to make them more interesting. Our writing has been about ‘The Great Fire of London’. The children have been describing the fire with exciting and detailed sentences, and it’s amazing to see how much they’ve learned! They’ve used words like “bright,” “hot,” and “smoky” to make their writing more vivid.

Topic

In Topic, we’ve been learning about different types of weather. We’ve been talking about precipitation (that’s rain, snow, or hail) and temperature (how hot or cold it is). The children have loved exploring these concepts! We even became weather reporters and went outside with iPads to record our own weather reports. It was so much fun acting like real reporters and learning how to describe the weather like professionals!

We’re all looking forward to finishing the week with World Book Day. It’s going to be a fantastic way to end our week, with lots of reading, fun activities, and even dressing up as our favourite book characters.
