Maths

In Maths this week, the year 6 children have been learning how express missing number problems algebraically. At the beginning of the week, the children learned how to use simple formulae to express calculations algebraically. The children then applied this knowledge to find pairs of numbers that satisfy number sentences involving two unknowns. See below for an example of a question that the children tackled this week.

English

In English this week, the children have been writing persuasive leaflets to encourage people to holiday in the Arctic. The children have worked hard this week to plan and write their leafleft content.

In lessons, the children have been working super hard to improve their handwriting. Well done to Adham and Mia who have earned pen licenses this week for super handwriting. 

This week, we have celebrated World Book Day in school. It was amazing to see all the children dressed up as their favourite book characters. Thank you to all those who entered our 'Book in a Box' competition. Results will be revealed soon....
