Grab a book and dive inside! This week we have been celebrating World Book Day. The children made a book in a box for our school competition, we are awaiting the results with baited breath! On Thursday, the classroom was filled with book, film and stage characters. Well done to all who thought so creatively this week. The costumes were fabulous. We read books together, and selected our favourite book from the three finalists of the Derby Children's Best Book festival. In maths, we have been learning to add and subtract using the column method. English lessons this week have been all about making our writing the best it can be, by adding great adjectives to our sentences, using prepositions to expand the information and thinking about using conjunctions, when we add extra information, all building up to us writing our own stories next week. We have been artists this week too. We've thought about nature and how we can be inspired by the shapes in nature. Have a look a our nature inspired drawings and motifs.
