Spring 2 Week 2

Maths
This week, the children have been looking at statistics and handling data. At the start of the week, they looked at bar charts, pictograms and mathematical tables. The children worked hard to read the charts and answer questions about the data shown in them. At the end of the week, they continued to practise their times tables.

English
In English this week, the children continued learning about explanation texts. They researched some amazing facts about solids, liquids and gasses, some of them then found facts about the fourth state of matter, plasma, whereas other children wrote some fun facts about states of matter. Now the texts are all planned, they are looking forward to writing them up!

Other Subjects
In Topic this week, the children looked at grouping and classifying animals and plants. They enjoyed sorting animals into groups and writing questions for what the groups could be.

Also this week, the children celebrated World Book Day! On Thursday, they all dressed up as their favourite characters and learnt about what you need to make a good story.

Well done to Joshua for achieving Star of the Week. He has settled in really well, has an excellent attitude towards his learning and makes valuable contributions to our class discussions.
