Spring 2 Week 2

Hello all,

In English this week, the children have been practising writing sentences including fronted adverbials and prepositions to describe the city of Pompeii. They also enjoyed using a thesaurus to help them use interesting adjective choices.

In Maths, the children have recapped addition and subtraction, using the column method to solve questions.

In Science, the children carried out an experiment to test out the stength of different magnets. They also really enjoyed learning about the Earth's magnetosphere and how it causes the northern lights!

In BSL, the children have been learning the days of the week and then using these in their conversation about hobbies.

The children had lots of fun during World Book Day. There was time to read and explore new stories and carry out some exciting book-themed activities!  The children also enjoyed looking at their best writing folder.  

Reminder: Please can we ask that you support your child in ensuring that their iPad is fully charged and ready to use at school every day. Also please support your child in bringing in their reading book and reading diary every day. Please sign your child's reading diary to show the reading they are doing at home.

Home learning tasks are now on paper. Your child will receive a pack along with their weekly spellings. Please support your child in accessing their tasks.  Homework is set every Thursday and is due the following Thursday.
