Spring 2, Week 3
Date: 14th Mar 2024 @ 12:48pm
Take a look at what Talented T-Rex class have been learning this week…
In English, we drafted and published our letters to Samuel Pepys about the Great Fire of London. In our letters, we gave detailed accounts of what happened on each day. We also wrote some questions for Samuel Pepys, including ‘Did your house burn down?’ and ‘Why did you stop writing in your diary?’.
In Topic, we enjoyed observing and tracking different aspects of the weather. We learnt that temperature is measured using thermometers. Then, we recorded the temperature in the morning and in the afternoon, over three days. We found that it was warmer in the afternoons. We also learnt about the Beaufort Scale, which is used to measure the strength of the wind. Over five days we observed the wind and recorded our results in a table.
Well done Harley for Star of the Week! You always work hard in phonics lessons and you are remembering lots of the tricky phonemes.
Well done Millie for Star Writer! Your letter to Samuel Pepys was lovely and you worked really hard on using finger spaces.
