Maths

In Maths this week, the year 6 children have been applying their mathematical knowledge to answer reasoning and problem-solving questions about a variety of different subjects. At the beginning of the week, the children began by looking at how to answer worded problems using their knowledge of measurement. The children used their knowledge of how to convert measurements to successfully answer SATs style reasoning questions.

English

In English this week, the children have begun a new writing unit. In Year 6, we are currently learning how to write a balanced argument. This week, the children have learnt what makes a good balanced argument. They have looked at a variety of good examples of writing and have analysed the grammatical features used in each.
