Spring 2 Week 4

This week we have been very busy completing our activity booklets for reading and maths. We have worked very hard and tried our best to improve our scores- well done sharks!

In English, we have started work on writing a setting description. We have designed our own desert islands with lots of different physical features for us to describe. We have read lots of great examples and magpied lots of amazing words and phrases for our own work. 

In topic this week, we have started our new mini project called ‘Uses of Materials’. We have carried out lots of different experiments this week.  We have tested different types of paper to compare their strength, texture and absorbency. We were all very excited to see the tissue paper absorb the water very quickly! We also completed an investigation to find out what material makes the strongest shopping bag. Our results showed paper bags are the weakest and fabric bags were the strongest.
