Spring 2 Week 4

Hello all,

In English this week, the children have been publishing their 'Escape from Pompeii' stories. They have thought carefully about using a neat handwriting style.

In Maths, the children have recapped how to measure length and height, mass and volume. They have practised reading scales and recording different measurements using the correct units of measure (e.g cm for length).

In Art, the children have practised different sketching techniques e.g hatching and smudging. They also practised drawing and then printing a picture of an ammonite.

In BSL, the children have been learning the months of the Year, thinking about the letters they spell out for each month.  Maybe they could show you at home.

In PE, the children practised different techniques to help them protect the ball when passing to their teammates. We then applied these techniques to play a team game of Handball.

Reminder: Please can we ask that you support your child in ensuring that their iPad is fully charged and ready to use at school every day. Also please support your child in bringing in their reading book and reading diary every day. Please sign your child's reading diary to show the reading they are doing at home.

Home learning tasks are now on paper. Your child will receive a pack along with their weekly spellings. Please support your child in accessing their tasks.  Homework is set every Thursday and is due the following Thursday.
