Starfish Autumn 1, week 1
Date: 12th Sep 2024 @ 10:17am
This week in Maths, we have been learning about place value. We have been comparing numbers, partitioning numbers and ordering numbers from smallest to largest. We have worked carefully to look at the tens and ones to help us found the answer.
In English, we have started our new book called ‘The Magic Paintbrush’. We will be writing a retell story to entertain the new reception children. We have sequenced the cards and identified the features of a story.
On Monday, we had an amazing day taking part in our Topic Day for Movers and Shakers. We had so much fun dressing up as famous people, who have changed the world in positive ways. We enjoyed sharing the facts we had researched over the holidays to the rest of the class and continuing to find out more information about certain people.
I am so proud of how you have settled into Year 2; I cannot wait to see what amazing things you will achieve this year!
Star of the week: Harley - For settling in well into Year 2 and being a good friend to everyone in the class
Star writer: Ulfa - For forming letters correctly in handwriting lessons
