Starfish Autumn 1, Week 2
Date: 19th Sep 2024 @ 7:35am
This week in Maths, we have been learning how to estimate numbers on a number line. We have learnt what estimate means and applied this to our learning. We looked at the tens in the number first, to identify where it needs to go on the number line. Then we looked at the ones to help us place it to the nearest 10. Joel and Ulfa worked hard and even moved on to reasoning questions.
In English, we looked at the features that are included in a story. Throughout the week we then looked closer at the skills, we explored adjectives, conjunctions and time adverbials. Ruby-Mai wrote an amazing sentence, ‘The light, golden sand’.
In topic this week, we have been learning what chronological order means. We used this to help us order when significant people were born, from the earliest to the most recent date. Jacob was a whizz at ordering the dates, ensuring he looked at the first two numbers to help him decide which date came first.
